We caught up with KA brother John H. "Jay Peavy, Jr. '81 and got some insight from him about what his time in a college fraternity meant to him;

What KA tradition is the most meaningful to you?
"The tradition of being a gentleman to women. Holding doors open for women and standing when they rise from the table always makes a great first impression."

What did the fraternity teach you about leadership?
"It taught me to respect and listen to my fellow members and to teach the younger members the traditions of the KA Gamma Chapter"

What is your funniest fraternity memory?
"Running on the field after we beat Auburn there and being confronted by Aubie the Tiger and my reaction was to tackle him in front of the Auburn student section. I was lucky to make it alive out of Auburn that night."

In what ways have you stayed connected with Gamma Chapter as an alum?
"I have not stayed connected, shame on me."

What's new in your life today? (family news, career highlights, etc.)
"I am an attorney and I started my own firm 5 years ago. I should have done this 15 years earlier. I am so proud of my children, Madison and Hamilton, and my wife Allison."
